SUGAR MONSTER 7M - 1 Bag Seeds 5 acres!
8.5% Protein | 44.9% Fiber
4 - 4.9 DMY t/ac (annual) | 12°C Min Soil Temp | 4 kg/acre seed rate
The ultimate sugar-rich, drought-tolerant pearl millet for temperate regions. SugarMonster 7M is a Canadian sweet-stem pearl millet hybrid (CSPM7) developed over 12 years and released in 2018. It delivers 10–12 t/ha dry matter yields with exceptionally high Brix levels (15–18%), thriving in low-fertility, acidic soils (pH 4.5) with minimal nitrogen input.
Harvested at the milky grain-to-dough stage, its sugary stems are highly palatable and safe for livestock, with no prussic acid risk. In crop rotations, SugarMonster 7M controls root-lesion nematodes, helps build soil organic matter, and supports syrup, alcohol, and ethanol production—with potential ethanol yields of up to 3,500 L/ha.
??ColdProof Trait lets you plant early, when soil temperatures are as low as 10°C, and harvest up to 2 tons/cut of protein-packed, fiber-rich forage every 35–40 days — even on dryland with zero irrigation.
??GrazeSafe Trait keeps your ruminant animals grazing safely even after a drought, frost, hail, snow or other stressors with zero prussic acid risk.
